5.2 How We Perceive

There is way more to perception that is immediately apparent.

It is something that we are so used to, and so unaware of the processes that make it up, that we never question for one moment whether the image I am looking at in my mind is, in fact, the actual object in the world.

We assume that it is. We all agree that it is. We live our lives, make decisions, engage in all the activities we humans engage in and rarely if ever question if what we are living as true is actually true.

So let’s take a look under the kilt of this complex and fascinating mechanism and and see what it is really made of.
